The works of multidisciplinary visual artist Diet Wiegman range from light sculptures to ceramics, drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures, for which he had been nominated “Most Brilliant Artist of Netherlands” in 2009. Although he is a master of his craft in every discipline, his light and shadow work is undoubtedly one of his most astounding art creations. Utilizing scrap metal, garbage, flowerpots, chairs and other objects, he assembles sculptures that, with the help of a light source, project beautiful images on the wall. It’s amazing to see how these disjointed formations happen to appear as a Michael Jackson figure or Michelangelo’s David and we clearly get the message he believes in: to create beauty from trash.
