Imagine a place where modern street art meets classic French gastronomy, redefining the meaning of understated luxury. Branding and design firm Substance where challenged to create exactly this, a space where an eclectic range of work from contemporary and street artists could serve as a backdrop for a French fine dining restaurant. Inspired by the 1930’s Art Deco, this unprecedented project came alive with Bibo, the artist invisioning this space and who the restaurant is named after. Located amongst antique shops and art galleries at Hollywood Street in Sheung Wan, the Upper District of Hong Kong, Bibo allows its customers to enjoy fine cuisine amidst works of the world’s most renowned artists, including Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, JR, Mr Brainwash, and the Invader, to mention just a few. Thrilled to witness this new way of eating and seeing art, we hope for similar projects yet to come.
